Dmitry “Star of David” Salita (31-1-1,16 KO’s) made his return at the Ocean Hall in Brooklyn NY winning an impressive unanimous decision over Franklin Gonzales (13-6, 9 KO’s).

11/08/2008 – Dmitriy Wins !!! Dmitriy won impressive unanimous decision over a tough Derrick Campos, improving his undefeated record to 29-0. With a win Dmitriy becomes a new WBA and IBF international champion, which brings him closer to a world title shot against WBA titlist Andreas Kotelnik. Dmitriy controlled the fight, utilizing his steady left jab and an assortment of shots to the body and head. On several occasions Dmitriy ripped Campos with a left hook, snapping his head backwards and twice knocking his mouthpiece to the floor. The fight was nothing short of a boxing clinic put on by the rising Star of David. For our fans we have put together some pictures of the fight:

Dmitriy on Calzaghe-Jones card! Undefeated jr. welterweight Dmitriy Salita (28-0-1) signed a promotional agreement with Square Ring today with hopes of securing a world title shot in the near future. Salita who is currently rated WBA #2 will be fighting a feature bout on the Roy Jones-Joe Calzaghe HBO-PPV broadcast on the card in New York on September 20th against a yet to be determined foe. "I am very excited to be on the card fighting in the Garden with two legends," said Dmitriy. "I haven’t fought in the Garden since I won the Golden Gloves in 2001." Square Ring, Inc. has already made overtures to WBA champion Andreas Kotelnik for a title shot but were unable to come to an agreement. Salita is looking for big things with this new partnership, "I have to stay busy and get ready for any title fight in my next fight or two. I signed with Square Ring, Inc. so I can get a shot on HBO and I feel I will dominate boxing this year." CEO of Square Ring, Inc. John Wirt is optimistic about this signing. "We are very excited about this signing. We believe Dmitriy has everything to be a great fighter."

Dmitriy wins by TKO in the 5th !!! Dmitriy "Star of David" Salita (28-0-1, 16 KOs) scored a fifth round TKO over Mexico's Fabian "El Lobo" Luque (21-6-5, 12 KOs). The #3 WBA ranked junior welterweight, dominated Luque from the opening bell, knocking him down in the first round.
