Sebastian Fundora vs Errol Spence Jr deal agreed for October

According to a report by ESPN.com’s Mike Coppinger, Sebastian Fundora and Errol Spence Jr have reached an agreement to fight in October. The match is expected to take place in the Dallas area, potentially at AT&T Stadium if a date can be secured. Fundora, the current WBC and WBO super welterweight champion, will defend his titles against Spence, a former welterweight titleholder.

Fundora claimed the WBO belt from Tim Tszyu and won the vacant WBC strap in a hard-fought battle on Mar. 30 in Las Vegas, stepping in as a replacement for the injured Keith Thurman. Spence, on the other hand, has not fought since a tough loss to Terence “Bud” Crawford in July 2023, with lingering concerns about his health and future in the sport.

After the March bout, Spence was immediately mentioned as a potential opponent for Fundora. While Spence, at 34, faces uncertainties, Fundora, at 26, is riding high off the biggest victory of his career. It seems like a showdown between these two fighters is on the horizon.
