‘Typical big bully’: Carl Froch rips ‘disgraceful’ John Fury for headbutt

John Fury, father of Tyson Fury, made a bold statement to kick off the Fury vs. Usyk fight week by headbutting a member of Team Usyk at a press event on Monday. This move, however, did not sit well with former super middleweight champion Carl Froch, who aired his displeasure in his Froch on Fighting YouTube series.

Froch criticized John Fury, labeling him a “disgrace” and a “typical bully” for his actions. He accused Fury of deliberately targeting the smallest member of Team Usyk for the headbutt, resulting in injuries to both parties. Froch condemned Fury’s behavior, calling it “disgusting and disgraceful” and expressing hope that Fury feels embarrassed for his actions.

Describing Fury as a “big bully,” Froch emphasized that the incident reflected poorly on boxing and called for Fury to face legal consequences for his assault. Despite believing that the incident is being overlooked, Froch remained adamant in his condemnation of John Fury’s behavior.

In his impassioned plea, Froch urged for accountability, stating that John Fury’s actions tarnish the sport’s reputation and set a negative example for aspiring boxers. He called for Fury to face the consequences of his actions and to focus on the upcoming fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk, rather than causing further trouble.

While recognizing Fury’s past indiscretions, such as gouging someone’s eye, Froch emphasized the need for peace, kindness, and accountability within the sport. He hoped that Fury’s moment of reckoning would lead to a change in behavior and a renewed focus on the sport of boxing.
