Canastota Boxing Hall of Fame had a great Induction Ceremony

The recent Canastota Boxing Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony was a major success, with an incredible lineup of fighters being honored. Ricky Hatton, Ana Maria Torres, Michael Moorer, Ivan Calderon, Jane Couch, and Diego Corrales (posthumously) were all inducted into the Hall of Fame during the event on Sunday, June 9. The ceremony, held at the Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona, was graced by the presence of the president of the World Boxing Association (WBA), Gilberto Jesus Mendoza.

Mendoza kicked off the ceremony with heartfelt words for the inductees and the audience, expressing gratitude for the invitation and congratulating each individual for their contribution to the sport of boxing. The event began with an official parade through the streets of Canastota, drawing thousands of people and volunteers, as well as notable figures such as Eric “Butterbean” Eisch, Erik Morales, Jorge Linares, and Marco Antonio Barrera, among others, who joined in to support the honorees.

The day was filled with emotions and served as the perfect culmination of a weekend dedicated to celebrating the rich history of boxing in 2024.
