Riyadh Season: Raymond Ford set to defend his WBA title

Raymond Ford is gearing up to defend his title as the World Boxing Association (WBA) featherweight champion against Britain’s Nick Ball at the upcoming Riyadh Season event, which promises to showcase an exciting lineup of five thrilling fights.

Set for June 1st, the main event will see Dmitry Bivol take on Malik Zinad as he defends his WBA light heavyweight title, in a highly anticipated bout that will be the highlight of the evening’s 5 vs 5 showdown between Matchroom Boxing and Queensberry Promotions.

Ford will be stepping into the ring against Ball in his first title defense, ready to prove himself as a champion. The event will also feature heavyweight matchups with Deontay Wilder taking on Zhilei Zhang, Daniel Dubois facing off against Filip Hrgovic, and light heavyweight battles between Austin Williams and Hamzah Sheeraz, as well as Craig Richards and Willy Hutchinson.

Following the tremendous success of the last Riyadh event that saw Oleksandr Usyk emerge victorious over Tyson Fury, the boxing world is eagerly anticipating the upcoming Riyadh Season spectacle, which is expected to deliver an unforgettable experience with its stellar lineup of fights.

Ford recently touched down in Saudi Arabia and received a warm welcome from His Excellency Turki Alalshikh during a friendly ceremony. Now, as he settles in and puts the final touches on his preparations, all eyes are on the champion as he readies himself for his title defense.
